Herbal Medicine

Herbs can be found anywhere in the world. Herbal medicine is one of the most ancient forms of health care known to humankind. Until the 1920s with the advent of antibiotics, herbal medicine was commonly used, until it was gradually replaced by pharmaceuticals. This continued until the 1960s when people were becoming disaffected with the cost and side effects of pharmaceutical medicines. Today, there is an increasing trust and interest in medicinal plants.

Herbal medicine can help with virtually any ailment or disease, including for those who choose to use pharmaceuticals. They can powerful or gentle, exotic or common as weeds (literally), complex formulas or simple home remedies.

There are no ailments that cannot be helped with herbs but here are a few examples:

  • Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Gut issues (constipation, diarrhea, yeast overgrowth)
  • Parasites
  • Heavy metal toxicity
  • Mold toxicity
  • Effects of antibiotics

What to expect from herbal medicine:

I endeavor to create herbal formulas from organic and wild crafted plants as much as possible. Depending on the need and the client, I use tinctures, teas, syrups or salves. Often I will create a personal formula tailored to an individual’s needs, though sometimes there are excellent already existing tried and true remedies. Herbal medicine is taken every day to balance the system and build up strength and vitality in the body. Non-toxic but extremely effective, herbs are our greatest plant allies.
